Drayton Manor Resort is set to kick off the summer season in style with its spectacular May Bank Holiday Weekend event, featuring late night rides and a dazzling fireworks finale.
Taking place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May, the resort will extend its opening hours until 9pm, giving guests the rare opportunity to experience their favourite attractions after dark. The weekend promises an electric atmosphere for families and thrill-seekers alike, culminating in a breathtaking fireworks display each evening.
Rides in the Dark
With the park open late, visitors can enjoy extra time across all major themed lands. Whether it’s catching a sunset view from the top of Thor in the Vikings area or braving the high-speed inversions of The Wave (the park's reimagined coaster) under the night sky, the extended hours add a magical dimension to the ride experience.
For younger adventurers, Thomas Land will be fully operational, allowing little ones to enjoy over 25 themed rides and attractions well into the evening. The nautical-themed Adventure Cove and the rugged Wild West area, Frontier Falls, will also provide plenty of entertainment as the sun goes down.
Explosive Entertainment
The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly the Fireworks show. Scheduled for 9pm on both Saturday and Sunday, the display will light up the sky over the lake with a vibrant mix of colour, sparkle, and sound. It serves as the perfect grand finale to a full day of theme park action.
In addition to the pyrotechnics, the park will host live entertainment throughout the weekend. Guests can look forward to:
- Thomas Land Balcony Shows: Musical performances featuring Sir Topham Hatt and his friends.
- Rory & Lory Shows: High-energy entertainment starring the park's resident lion mascots.
More Than Just Rides
The Drayton Manor Zoo will also be open during the day, home to over 500 animals including tigers, red pandas, and various primates. It offers a great change of pace for families looking to take a break between rides.
